University Singers to present Valentine concert
The SNU School of Music presents the University Singers in their annual spring concert entitled “Songs of Romance,” Thursday and Saturday, February 10 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Cantrell Hall, located just north of NW 39th Expressway and College on the campus of Southern Nazarene University.
Under the direction of Professor Philip Miller, the concert will showcase the tight harmony of the University Singers, SNU’s select vocal ensemble. The concert will feature the best in contemporary Christian music and vocal jazz including “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “Fascinating Rhythm,” “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah,” and several of the group’s favorite sacred pieces. To close the concert, the group will perform their signature song, “Country Dances.”
The University Singers are an elite auditioned ensemble specializing in the style of contemporary music and vocal jazz. The group was recently invited to perform at the Oklahoma Music Educators Conference and the University of North Texas Jazz Festival.
“This is a concert you won’t want to miss, featuring an evening of outstanding music from some of the top artists at SNU,” said Miller.
