Work & Witness conference to feature Ken Carney
Annual short term mission conference at SNU coming again October 10-11
Ken Carney, veteran missionary to the Caribbean, will be the featured speaker at a Work & Witness conference on the SNU campus October 10-11, 2003.
Marty Hoskins and David Cooper, who direct the Nazarene short-term missions effort, will also be there. Missionaries from areas soliciting mission teams will have display tables. A JESUS film partnership representative will be at the Friday night/Saturday morning meeting to recruit participants for evangelism teams.
Registration is now open for the conference which will be held in the SNU Commons. Cost per participant is $40. That includes registration fees, two meals and coffee breaks. Participants are responsible for arranging their own housing.
Keynote speaker Carney is currently the pastor of Hot Springs First Church of the Nazarene. From 1986 to 1998 he served as a Nazarene missionary in the Caribbean region. He began his missionary service in Puerto Rico and then moved to the Dominican Republic. In 1994 he became Work and Witness director for the entire region.
The conference begins with a 6 p.m. Friday evening dinner at which Carney will speak. The conference ends Saturday after a noon luncheon.
