Southern Nazarene University - Character Culture Christ

The School for Children opened its doors as a pre-school in 1971. Dr. Joy Beaver, an SNU professor, had a vision for a place that would serve college students needing a place to practice their teaching while offering a "top-notch" program for young children to learn. The school quickly grew each year and one grade at a time was added. The university dormitory has continued to educate hundreds of children for over 36 years. Dr. Beaver continued to direct the school and mentor future educators in a powerful way until her retirement in 2005. Since that time, Dr. Tim Taylor has stepped in with vision, guidance and support. He is continuing the rich legacy with his great leadership and wise guidance. The question of how to educate a child is one of the most important a parent can ask. Students who attend our private school can be more academically challenged, exposed to a clearer value system, given great access to teachers, and may simply feel safer than a local public school option. A school doesn't shape just educational outcomes, it also strongly influences attitudes and critical thinking. Please call and make an appointment to visit us. Visiting a school is a critical part of choosing a school. You must see our school, view the facilities, meet the students and chat with our staff. After all, you are thinking about entrusting your precious child to our people.
