You can get academic credit while on Commission Unto Mexico -- SNU's
short-term mission trip over the New Year's holiday.
This credit can be as Spanish, Sociology or Missions
hours.
Official course description from SNU catalog:
"A unique travel-study experience in Mexico. It is designed to help
the student experience first-hand the culture and environment of a
Spanish-speaking country, learn something of the history of Mexico and advance
in personal development toward a broader view of humanity and appreciation for
cultures different from our own."
To get credit, you
must:
- Sign up for the course with the SNU registrar before going on the trip (preferably by December 1). If you are
not currently an SNU student, you must register through the SNU admissions
office. Cost for academic credit hours are NOT included in the trip fees.
- Do assigned readings and other assignments (see syllabi links below)
Qualified high school seniors going on Commission Unto Mexico can receive 1 academic
hour of college credit. College and university students normally can sign up for
2 hours of credit. By special arrangement (and by doing additional work), three
hours of Mexican Field Studies credit can be earned on this Mexico mission
trip.
Since SNU is an accredited institution, these credits can easily be
transferred to any other college or university.
Payment
SNU students can sign up for the course as part of either their fall or
spring "block tuition." In that case, they need not pay extra for Mexican Field
Studies credit. In all other cases, tuition for these credit hours must be paid
to the SNU business office at current rates.

"God poured His blessings on us every day at our job site in Mexico.
There were lots of prayer circles going on at different times, and so much of
the love of Jesus shared! I am a better person for going" -- Selita
