Job Title: Admissions Counselor II

Reports to: Vice President of Enrollment

Department: Office of Admissions

Purpose: To serve Christ through identifying, recruiting and enrolling qualified undergraduate students by developing, nurturing and sustaining positive relationships with prospective students and their families. To also serve the South Central Region Church of the Nazarene through building and sustaining relationships with pastors, youth pastors and congregations.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid driver’s license

Experience Required:

Three to five years of experience in admissions 

  • If not direct experience in admissions, then what? Professional public speaking, working with the public, working independently and meeting goals
  • Competitive candidates who don’t have direct admission experience should have sales experience (presentations) or recruiting/HR experience

  2. Advise potential applicants (i.e., in person, group session, chat, phone, email or web)

  8. Strong skills in diplomacy, tact and discretion

  11. Good at packaging many features and services in preparation for matriculation 
  12. Reliable 
  13. Friendly and fearless 
  14. Must intrinsically see the larger good of a Christian higher education

  3. Accurately forecast and analyze data for strategic action 
  4. Conduct follow up 
  5. Meet targeted enrollment goals 
  6. Enroll a high-quality student body

Additional Information:
The Office of Admissions is a dynamic office with projects, programs, prospects and strategy ever changing. This position requires a high degree of commitment to the values and mission of Southern Nazarene University. This position will need to stay current with all university programs and offerings in order to help answer questions and provide prospective students with the highest level of customer service. SNU graduate preferred.
