Army to host women's achievement panel at SNU

Bethany, OK - The Oklahoma City U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion will host a women’s achievement panel at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 8th in Herrick Auditorium on the campus of Southern Nazarene University, 6729 NW 39 Expressway, Bethany OK. The program will coincide with International Women’s Achievement Day to celebrate the contributions of women to leadership in education, justice, health and the military.

The Oklahoma City Women’s Achievement Panel will highlight the contributions of women to leadership across several fields – education, justice, health, and the military. The event occurs on March 8th, 2019 in order to recognize International Women’s Achievement Day.

The keynote speaker, LTG Laura J. Richardson, The first female commanding general of the US Army forces command (the largest military command in the country), will be followed by a panel of selected female senior leaders from across the community.  That panel consists of the following individuals:

  • Judge Barbara Swinton, OK Court of Appeals
  • Colonel Lisa Bartel, Brigade Commander
  • Dr. Jeanette Mendez, OSU Dean Arts and Sciences
  • Avilla Williams, President of Integris Edmond.
  • First Sergeant Danielle Balson of the Tusla, Oklahoma Recruiting Company

The audience is high school juniors and seniors, college students, and young professionals. Max attendance is 900 for speech and panel, and 400 for breakout sessions in an informal luncheon following the event.

High school and college students can reserve the Breakout Session tickets, (which follows the panel discussion and Q&A) and will participate with panel members and other area leaders in small breakout sessions during the luncheon, gaining a valuable opportunity to learn from successful women in multiple fields.
