Post-graduation, we have a 100% job placement rate with our graduates working in various settings for the physically active. 75% of our students are accepted to graduate schools to continue their education by obtaining a Master’s degree. The Athletic Training Education Program was commended by the Commission on Accreditation for Athletic Training Education (CAATE) in 2009 and received the prestigious 10 year accreditation.  Currently, the SNU ATEP is the only Nazarene affiliated program in the State of Oklahoma.  Each year the students are involved in a combination of classroom and clinical education. The students attend classes in the morning and then have a total of 6 semesters where they are learning alongside a practicing Certified Athletic Trainer. The clinical sites include the athletic teams at SNU as well as mixture of private and public local area high schools. This combination allows students to prepare for a diverse professional career. Furthermore, students participate in activities outside of the classroom such as networking with other ATEPs in Oklahoma through socials and conferences.

The SNU ATEP is currently non-compliant by CAATE as it undergoes changes to continually strive for excellence from the students. Changes to the program include a revision of courses offered to enhance critical thinking by engaging students in Athletic Training specific scenarios. The program is also undergoing a change to the clinical curriculum to enhance students experience not only in the Athletic Training Room, but also in non-traditional such as emergency rooms, ambulance ride-alongs, family practice clinics and holding exclusive partnerships with semi-professional teams in the Oklahoma City area. We are also working to provide our students medical mission experience through a partnership with the Christian Sport Medicine Alliance (CSMA). Through these concentrated efforts, the Athletic Training Education program is striving to increase the first time pass rate from the current 3 year aggregate of 33% to a 3 year aggregate of 100%..
