The Computer Science Program

Nathaniel Troutman
Computer Science Alumni Nathaniel Troutman at Southern Nazarene University, Bethany Oklahoma
Currently: A member of Wal-Mart’s Information Systems Division and is on the Predictive Analytics team.

Responsibilities: His current project is to develop a machine learning algorithm that can determine if two customers are actually the same customer using various pieces of information about the customers.

Achievements: During his first year of working at ISD, Troutman was promoted and won the prestigious “Genesis” award. An award that is given to only 4 people a year.

In His Words: “The biggest help for me was having a professor, Dr. Brent Eskridge, that saw my passion for problem solving and computers and directed me towards Machine Learning. From his contacts with the University of Oklahoma I got involved with a Research Experience for undergraduates which eventually led to going to OU for my graduate studies.”
