Senior Year - Fall Semester
September:
Check your transcript to make sure you have all the credits your need for admission into Southern Nazarene University.
Register for October/November SAT or ACT tests.
Give recommendation forms to appropriate teachers and counselors making certain that your portion of the forms are complete and accurate.
October:
Check with SNU regarding admission deadlines.
November and December:
Submit your SNU admission application. Check with your financial aid counselor to see if there is anything athat you can do to prepare for FAFSA submission.
Senior Year - Spring Semester
January:
Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on or shortly after January 1st.
Make sure your parents have completed their income tax return. If not, complete the FAFSA indicating you "will file" at a later time. This will help you meet some state deadlines.
February:
If you filed a FAFSA in January, you should receive a Student Aid Report shortly
Complete any and all scholarship applications
Contact the Financial Aid Office (FAO) to make sure your information has been received and they have everything needed.
March/April/May:
Award Letter will be sent from FAO indicating your financial aid package.
Visit the FAO with any questions or concerns.
Determine tuition, fees, room, board and books. Check payment plan options.
Summer Months
Have your high school send final transcript.
Registration to any college can be hectic. To make your transition into SNU smooth and less stressful, contact your FAO to make sure everything is complete.
