To complete a master's degree a student must do the following:
- Attain admission to Full Graduate Standing
- Complete the required
coursework with a GPA of 3.0 or better
- Develop a professional portfolio
- Satisfactorily complete the exit evaluation
Statute of Limitations
Students have six (6) years (from the first
night of class) to complete all coursework requirements. Otherwise, they must
re-enroll and pay for the entire program.
Commencement
All requirements for a graduate degree must be
completed before participating in commencement activities. Commencement
exercises are held each year in December and in May. Degrees are also awarded in
August, with participation in the following December commencement.
All students prior to participation in commencement must complete the
application for graduation form, provided by the GSM office. The application for
graduation form includes measurements for regalia.
Students who applied for graduation for a specific graduation date but did
not graduate must complete a re-application for graduation form (provided by the
GSM office) prior to the anticipated graduation date.
Delta Mu Delta
Delta Mu Delta is a national honor society in
business. It was established for the recognition of business students who have
distinguished themselves scholastically. Membership also means the student has
good character and the unmistakable leadership potential for a socially useful
and satisfying career of service.
MSM/MBA students are eligible to join Delta Mu Delta who are at the top 20% of each class, based on grade point average, after 24 credit hours are completed, will be invited to join the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society. The GSM office will
provide the Delta Mu Delta application forms. Members of Delta Mu Delta may
purchase honor cords to wear with their regalia at commencement. There is no
other special recognition for a student's outstanding grade point average at the
graduate level.
