64. Course and program retention is assessed. Results of course evaluations are used as part of faculty/instructor performance evaluations.
Comments received: Documentation moderately supports the indicator. For a score of 3, show how the data for all student support services is utilized for continuous improvement and from a learner perspective. Some documentation showing discussion of action items for improvement would be helpful. May want to consider the Priorities Survey of Online Learners (PSOL) as an option to inform data gathering.

65. Recruitment and retention are examined and reviewed.
Comments received: Documentation is insufficient for the indicator. A strategic plan and steering committee oversight will be necessary to be sure that strategies are consistent and effective. Admissions support is important, but on-going academic advising, grade monitoring, and registration support is necessary and should be out-bound, not just publishing a phone number and hoping the student will call. Are all recruitment practices for the online programs in keeping with the DoE program integrity standards? If you serve military and veteran learners in your online program, does your program adhere to those standards (e.g., DoD MOU, VA integrity standards)? So consider not only internal standards and practices, but your regional accreditation standards or more comprehensive standards.

70. Course evaluations collect student feedback on quality of content and effectiveness of instruction.
Comments received: Documentation supports the indicator. As an improvement though, can you show actual data that you collected and then a response to some of it? Mark out the name at the top, and then can you show where you used feedback and made a response for improvement? For example, many complaints were made about assignment due dates. A review of assignment due dates was performed and the policy was changed.

Comments for Evaluation and Assessment: As online programs mature, there will be more opportunities for data collection, assessment, and continuous improvement. Most importantly, the institution is aware of all the evaluation that needs to happen to deliver a quality education and has invested resources in those areas.
