SNU has partnered with Google to allow faculty, staff and students to use Google Apps for Education, which includes Gmail, managing email accounts, as well as Google Calendar, Documents and Spreadsheets, and Google Talk. This was done at no cost to the university. Some of the anticipated benefits of this move include:

• Easy access to email from smart devices (mobile phones)
• The ability to "chat" from class to office assistants
• Access to student email addresses
• Shared ePortfolios
• Search specific to email with Google
• Filters & Labels (no nested folders)
