Energized by the excitement of the historic event,a large crowd braved a brisk March breeze to take part in the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the J.D. & Mary West Science Laboratory March 1, 2013, on the main campus of Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma.

As part of the multi-year, multi-phase Campaign for the Sciences, the $5.5 million dollar, 26,000 square feet structure will house classrooms, laboratories, offices and gathering spaces for students of Chemistry, Biology and Physics, and is anticipated to open in the fall of 2014.
