The Church in Haiti is exploding even as it is being rocked with earthquakes and disease. Be a part of this unique movement as we return for the third year! Haiti is over 5% Nazarene, making it the largest Protestant denomination on the island, and these people desperately need church buildings. You’ll be working to build a church, but also working with children in special programs, building relationships with Haitians, seeing the beautiful and impoverished island, and having the adventure of a lifetime. If you have medical skills (Nursing and Pre-Med majors), you’ll also have the opportunity to help in a medical clinic. Missionary Howard Culbertson and Rhea Woodcock are leading this trip to one of the economically poorest but spiritually richest places on the planet. Do not miss it!

A memory of Haiti Trip 2010
We will always remember Dr. Magdala. 
Magdala was 28 and married. She was Haitian and a medical doctor with a quick smile. We met her the morning of May 15 about an hour before the SNU Work & Witness team left Port-au-Prince on a trip to a mountain village in southeastern Haiti. About noon the vehicle in which Magdala was riding slipped off the road and down a 300-400 foot ravine. The tragic accident killed Magdala and severely injured another trained medical professional as well as the driver of the vehicle. A few days later representatives of the Church of the Nazarene in Haiti along with a huge crowd of friends and family mourned her death in Kingdom service.

Students and sponsors from Southern Nazarene University (SNU) are partnering with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) to work and serve those who suffered devastation from the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
The 20 SNU students who are participating in the Haiti project went through an interviewing process. The students in the May group have been chosen along with student alternates.
“The interview process was very competitive and went smoothly,” said Jason Hubbert, Associate in Spiritual Development at Southern Nazarene University.
During the visit this May, the team will stay on property that the Nazarene church owns on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince.
