Marketing Degree at SNU

At SNU, we want your educational needs to extend beyond textbook materials and lectures. That’s why our marketing program strives to give you practical experience in and out of the classroom with real-life marketing activities. Consider spending a summer and one semester with Morningstar Internships, which provides an international combined study abroad/internship program. You will have the opportunity for hands-on experience assisting the very poor in developing countries with starting their own businesses, and study abroad through International Studies with a Business emphasis. This program will prepare you to work for multinational corporations as well as with international, non-government organizations all over the world!

Alumni Spotlight

Todd Wetmore
Marketing Alumni at Southern Nazarene University, Bethany Oklahoma
Currently: Merchandise financial planner for the wireless team at Wal-Mart

Responsibilities: Manages the P&L for the wireless accessories business as well as the landline telephones (“Yes, we still sell a lot of those,” says Wetmore). He develops his plans by working cross functionally with his buyers to make financially-based decisions in their products in order to increase sales and profits and to understand the inventory impact.

Accomplishments: Wetmore was chosen to attend Wal-Mart’s buyer training program after graduation from SNU. He recently received the Forecast Accuracy Award, an award given to the planner who can forecast the most accurately on the core metrics of sales, profit and inventory.

In His Words: “SNU gave me the tools to excel at what I do every day. I attended SNU for an undergrad degree in business and from that I have been able to acquire the frame work needed to be adaptable and a strong ethical leader in the corporate world.”
