President of KNU Visits Campus

BETHANY, OK (August 14, 2012) - On Friday, August 3, 2012, the campus of Southern Nazarene University was privileged to welcome alumnus Dr. Min Gyoo Shin, President of Korea Nazarene University and senior pastor of Sangamdong Church of the Nazarene in Seoul, South Korea. 

Dr. Shin was accompanied by distinguished lay leaders of the Sangamdong church, who were touring a number of sites in the U.S. with Dr. Shin to gain a greater knowledge of the history and global influence of the Church of the Nazarene

A graduate of the Class of 1983, Dr. Shin went on to earn several graduate degrees, serve as a professor of Theology at KNU and, under his leadership, the Sangamdong Church of the Nazarene has become the fastest-growing and one of the largest Nazarene churches in Korea. In March of 2012 he was inaugurated as the university’s sixth president. 

The group was welcomed by Dr. Terry Toler, Vice President for University Advancement and Church Relations, on behalf of University President Dr. Loren Gresham. 

“We are honored that Dr. Shin and his church leaders made a visit to Southern Nazarene University a priority on their itinerary.” said Dr. Toler, “We are blessed to have had such distinguished guests on our campus, and honored to claim Dr. Shin as an alumnus.”
