School of Music Recording Studio

The SNU Recording Studio contains three control rooms and five isolation rooms. A facility of this quality is unusual for any school and SNU is able to provide a program that is unique to this region of the country.
The recording studio boasts the latest studio equipment including the Mackie DXB 72-input digital console and a broad selection of microphones. Students also have access to industry standard software including Digidesign Pro Tools, Steinberg Cubase, and Adobe Audition.
The facility allows students to work in an environment that is equivalent to a full commercial studio. Students can work together or individually on class assignments, personal projects and, in some cases, actual commercial work.
In SNU's Recording Studio, great care has been taken to provide the best sound isolation while still maintaining good visual connection between each of the isolation rooms. Principles as diverse as basic acoustics to common studio proceedures will be learned in a hands-on approach that far exceeds the conventional classroom experience.
