Healthcare has changed dramatically over the past few years. As healthcare changes, the demand for baccalaureate-prepared nurses in on the rise. Many healthcare facilities are requiring a BS as the degree of choice for the registered nursing staff. The RN/BS program at Southern Nazarene University is designed for associate degree and diploma nurses who wish to complete their bachelor’s degree. Graduates from the RN/BS program have the educational preparation pursue graduate and advanced practice studies in nursing. 

The R.N. to B.S. Program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing. The coursework includes advanced nursing concepts, trends and issues, community health, leadership, and research. The student completes 36 hours (27 hours nursing and 9 hours general education) and is prepared for graduate work in nursing. Classes meet 1 night a week for 14 months. 

As part of the program, we provide the opportunity to earn college credit for prior learning experience. Students may earn college credit for on-the-job training, military training, and life experiences that have provided them with college level learning through the writing of life-learning papers. Registered nurses, who have earned 60 or more transferable college semester credits, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, can qualify for this extraordinary college experience.

The RN to BS nursing program at SNU is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.  Campuses are located in Bethany and Tulsa, Oklahoma.  NO WAITING LIST.
