BETHANY, OK (July 13, 2012) - The Romero Guitar Institute is taking place on the campus of Southern Nazarene University from July 10th - 17th.
The institute, which was previously held at Quartz Mountain, provides students with a unique opportunity to learn from the Royal Family of Guitar. Students enjoy daily private lessons, masterclasses, and chamber coaching. Evenings involve performances as well as opportunities to enjoy local entertainment in Oklahoma City.
Matt Denman, associate professor of guitar, is a long time student of Pepe Romero and helped bring the Institute to SNU.
“Pepe changed my life,” he said. “He has opened so many doors for me professionally, and as a teacher he changed the way I look at the guitar and at music, in such a positive light.”
The students of the Celedonio Romero Guitar Institute will be performing July 15-16th, 7pm, in Cantrell Hall on the campus of Southern Nazarene University. All performances are free and open to the public.
The Romeros will be performing in an Los Romeros: The Royal Family of Guitar in concert on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Crossings Community Church located at 14600 N. Portland in OKC.
