A college major is defined as a specific area where you will take the majority of your coursework. Usually this relates to the job you are preparing for after college. Examples of popular majors at SNU include Business, Psychology, Sports Management, Education, and Religion. Your intended major may fit into one of the broader categories below. For example, a biology major would fit into the science category. Be sure to look for categories as well as specific majors!

Who: A full time student who is majoring in Music.

Graphic Arts, English, Creative Writing
Who: student science fiction writers and illustrators

National Art Honor Society Scholarship
Art, Graphic Design
Who: High school seniors that are willing to submit a portfolio that exemplifies their creative ability and interest

Thomas L. Dickson Scholarship
Political Science, English, Business, etc. (undergraduate major preparing you to pursue a law degree)
Who: Students who submit a video essay.
Amount: $1,000

AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students
Major: Accounting
Who: Minority students demonstrating exceptional academic achievement, leadership and commitment to pursuing the CPA
Amount: up to $5,000
Due: Spring

Digital Third Coast Scholarship
Major: Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations
Who: Students willing to write 500+ words on how digital marketing will develop in the next 5-10 years; recommended for students going into the fields stated above.
Amount: $500

A Place for Mom Scholarship
Who: Students enrolled in a certificate, associate's degree, bachelor’s degree or graduate level program in a medical, nursing or social sciences related major who is planning on pursuing a career that involves working with senior citizens
Amount: $1,000

Eraser Clinic Scholarship
Students majoring in  nursing, medicine, natural sciences, applied sciences, engineering, or a related field and are also willing to write a 200 to 400 word essay.
Amount: $1,000
Due: Spring and Fall

New Look Laser Tattoo Removal
Who: Students studying or planning to study nursing, medicine, natural or applied sciences, or engineering with a 3.0 GPA
Amount: up to $2,000


Buford & Gonzalez Scholarship
Students interested in a law career who have financial need and are willing to fill out an online form.
Amount: $2,000

Future Counselors of America Scholarship
Students with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA, are majoring in psychology and who are willing to write a 500 word essay.

Will-be-freshmen, freshmen, or sophomores willing to have summer internships.
