Science-Education Program

The SNU Science Education Program prepares pre-service teachers for teaching at the high school level in biology, chemistry and physics.  SNU's program is fully certified by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and the National Council for Accreditation in Teacher Education (NCATE).  Many of our recent graduates are teaching middle school science and high school physics, biology, and chemistry in Oklahoma and Texas.

For a list of course requirements, download a science education degree checklist.  Also available is a eight-semester plan for degrees in biology, chemistry, and physics education.

Science teachers who qualify may participate in a federal "Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program – FFEL" up to $17,500.  Additionally, science teachers in Oklahoma may be eligible for the Teacher Shortage Employment Incentive Program (TSEIP).
