LITERACY & SCIENCE/MATH CAMPS

COST:  $350 per camp  
LOCATION: SNU School for Children 
(3100 N. Rockwell. Bethany) 
 
REQUIREMENT:  Students must have completed grades K, 1, 2, or 3. 
NOTE: If children are enrolled in both camps, they may bring a lunch from home. Space is limited to 30 students per camp. $50 non-refundable deposit per camp is required with application.


 
LITERACY CAMP (9am-12pm, June 18 - July 13, 2018)

In this 4-week camp, instructors provide exciting reading, writing, and language activities in a fun, relaxed, camp-like setting. Activities include individualized reading instruction, games, songs, journal writing, and cooking experiences. This 4-week camp is designed to help students maintain or exceed their reading level over the summer.

SCIENCE /MATH CAMP (1pm-4pm, June 18 - July 13, 2018)

In this 4-week camp, instructors present exciting science and math concepts that will enhance problem-solving skills. Students will participate in experiments, hands-on activities and games, all designed to explore the relationship between science and math. This 4-week camp is designed to enrich your child's science and math skills in fun filled experiences.

WOODWORKING

COST:  $150 per session  
LOCATION: Bethany First Church Wood Shop 
(Southeast corner of N.W. 42nd and Mueller) 
 
REQUIREMENT:  Students must have completed grades 2-10 
NOTE: Each listed Woodworking Camp is a one week camp. Space is limited to 12 students per session.

In all sessions of this one-week camp, students will learn how to use a variety of woodworking tools and machines. Safety will be stressed as each student makes his/her own pen on a lathe as well as other daily projects. Returning campers will be working on new projects.

INTRO TO PROGRAMMING

COST:  $125 per session  
LOCATION: SNU School for Children

REQUIREMENT:  Students must have completed 2nd-8th grade 
NOTE: If children are enrolled in an AM & PM camp, they may bring a lunch from home

Students will be introduced to important computer science concepts.  Through building their own unique programs and 2-D games, students will see that technology makes it possible to accomplish things that would be very time consuming without the help of computers.

STEM: BRIDGE DESIGN

COST:  $125 per session  
LOCATION: SNU School for Children 
(3100 N Rockwell) 
 
REQUIREMENT:  Students must have completed 2nd-8th grade 
NOTE: If children are enrolled in an AM & PM camp, they may bring a lunch from home

Students will learn about different kinds of structures and forces at play in various bridge designs, then build a variety of models, experimenting with different shapes and area.  After constructing these models, the students will test their designs and analyze the results.

ART

COST:  $125 per session

Come join our Art Camp with experienced graphic designer and artist, Ashley Grubert, to practice art and design in meaningful and exciting ways!  This camp will further your creative mind through paint, paper, and imagination!

UKULELE

COST:  $125 per session  
LOCATION: SNU School for Children
(3100 N Rockwell) 
 
Space is limited to 12 students per session
REQUIREMENTS: Must have completed 3rd-5th grade (SESSION 1) or 6th-8th grade (SESSION 2)
NOTE: If children are enrolled in an AM & PM camp, they may bring a lunch from home

Learn to play the ukulele!  This camp focuses on teaching the basics of playing the ukulele.  Throughout the week, students will gain the skills and knowledge to continue self study of this very accessible instrument even after camp is over.  A ukulele is included in the price of this camp.

 Each student will receive 1 t-shirt no matter how many camps they attend.
