BETHANY, Okla (November 4, 2010) – Southern Nazarene University Homecoming will be held on November 12 and 13 and will honor student government leaders of past and present. This year will also mark the introduction of several events new to the annual SNU Homecoming tradition.
On Thursday, Nov. 11 we will “Storm the Street” by painting Peniel Ave., between NW 42nd St. and NW 39th Expwy, crimson and proclaim the colorful lane to be “Storm Alley” in celebration of our university colors and SNU Crimson Storm Athletics. SNU will provide the paint and students, faculty, alumni and the Bethany community are encouraged to bring their own paint roller and join the party.
Friday night at the SNU Sawyer Center, Crimson Storm basketball teams will compete in the traditional Homecoming games with the women taking the court at 6:00pm and the men at 8:00pm. A bonfire will be lit on SNU Fine Arts building lawn following the men’s game.
On Saturday we will welcome two new events to SNU Homecoming. From 9am to 5pm, the SNU Arts Fest will be held on College St. in the middle of the SNU campus. This is free and open to the public! Visitors may stroll through outdoor booths showcasing the work of student, faculty, staff, alumni and community artists. Artists will be selling their pieces.
Crimson Camp, the event just for kids aged 4-12, will take place on Saturday and will feature high-energy, SNU-themed activities!
The weekend will be completed with an all-alumni dinner and musical, The Secret Garden, presented on Saturday night.
