Southern Nazarene University hosted President and COO, Dan Cathy in chapel Tuesday, September 20.
Cathy engaged students with his humor but also allowed them to see his serious side by encouraging them to go the extra mile in life by referencing Matthew 5:41, “If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.” He urged students to make the second mile second nature in all aspects of their life.
“I really enjoyed chapel. Dan Cathy was very engaging and connected with the crowd”, said freshman, Jessica Bowie.
Cathy is not only a businessman, but also views his family and Christian life a priority. When he’s not at Chick-fil-A, Cathy can be found with his family, practicing his trumpet or teaching a junior and senior high school Sunday school class at his home church in Georgia.
Cathy will be speaking at SNU’s Peer Learning network tomorrow at 11:30.
