SNU School of Education - Accreditation Visit

Bethany, OK - May 8, 2018.  Southern Nazarene University participated in their national accreditation (CAEP - Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation) and state accreditation (OEQA - Oklahoma Office of Educational Quality and Accountability) site visit, April 8-10, 2018.  During these 3 days, a visiting team of educators from across the county visited the campus of SNU to evaluate and validate the Educator Preparation Program at Southern Nazarene University.

As a result of this visit and accreditation process, the SNU School of Education will be recommended for FULL national and state accreditation.

Based on their evaluation, the site visit team recommends that the School of Education has met all five national (CAEP) accreditation Standards with no Areas for Improvement, and has also met all 10 Oklahoma (OEQA) State requirements. Additionally, the "cross-cutting themes" of Diversity and Technology for all five CAEP Standards were also met with no Areas for Improvement.  The governing boards for CAEP and OEQA will vote on these final recommendations this coming fall 2018.  Upon approval, the SNU School of Education Educator Preparation Program will continue national and state accreditation and recognition for the next 7 years.

The SNU School of Education is very grateful for the quality of its candidates, faculty, and staff, as well as for the support and encouragement of the SNU campus community in the preparation of future teachers.
