Southern Nazarene University (SNU) School of Music is proud to announce the presentation of two one-act operas on February 19, 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Cantrell Hall on the campus of Southern Nazarene University located at 6729 N.W. 39th in Bethany, OK.
LaCantarina by Joseph Haydn is the silly story of a young opera diva that manipulates everyone who crosses her path including her mother, voice teacher and boyfriend.
Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell is the tragic story of Dido the Queen of Carthage who falls in love with and marries Aeneas the Prince of Troy when he and his crew are shipwrecked in Carthage. Aeneas is then tricked by an evil Sorceress and leaves to conquer Rome. Dido cannot live without him and dies.
