Southern Nazarene University welcomes summer guests to campus

BETHANY, OK -- Every summer Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is host to several summer guests through SNU special events and conferences.  This week alone, the university welcomes the Excel Camp’s Team Basketball Camp, Great Expectations Teacher Motivational Workshops, (hosted each year by the SNU School of Education) and today, June 17, the United Suburban Schools Association Conference (USSA) also hosted by the SNU School of Education.

The USSA conference will focus on updating school administrators and attorneys on current legislative changes that impact education.  Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson is the keynote speaker in the opening session of the conference.  Conference sessions are held in the Herrick building and in other locations across the campus.

The School of Education at SNU is pleased to host Great Expectations Summer Institute 2009 training here on the campus for hundreds of guest teachers and administrators.  The Summer Institute 2009 focuses on fun, learning, friendship, networking, motivation and inspiration.  Teachers who successfully implement the Great Expectations practices in their own class rooms during the school year teach sessions at the Summer Institute.   For more information on Great Expectations visit

The SNU Excel Summer Camps as well as Great Expectations Summer Institute conference bring visitors to the university campus each summer.  It is a privilege for SNU to host these and other summer events, which bring visitors to campus.

We continue to welcome the various groups from summer to summer and count it a privilege to be the host facility.
