Dr. Sylvia Goodman, Ed.D., L.A.T.,C, Chair, Department of Kinesiology; Athletic Training Program Director; and Professor of Kinesiology at Southern Nazarene University (SNU) and her colleagues hosted a visit from The Commission on Accreditation for Athletic Training Education (CAATE) site visit for our re-accreditation last week.
“The CAATE team was very impressed with the program and our facilities. The process now is to respond to their one concern and then CAATE will be back in mid-June to formally recommend the program for re-accreditation,” said Dr. Goodman.
At the exit interview Tuesday afternoon, the Chair of the team cited 7 strengths of the program, and admitted they had to search hard to find even one 'weakness' in the University’s program. The team chair said he had been on many visits over the years and had never evaluated a program as strong as the one at SNU.
“We also have four students who will be working the Boston Marathon this year as a part of the medical staff on April 20th. Those SNU students are Andy Smith, Natalie Freeman, Whitney Hergert and Callie Bacon,” said Goodman.
Southern Nazarene University congratulates Dr. Sylvia Goodman and her team on work well done.
