Toby Rowland, play-by-play “voice of the Sooners” and host of “Sooner Sports Spotlight,” is a Nazarene Preacher's Kid who graduated from SNU in 1995.

After graduation, Toby went to work for SNU's Sports Information office doing play-by-play announcing for some of the Crimson Storm teams. In 1999, Toby was hired by CBS-affiliate KWTV Channel 9 where he spent 12 years as a sports anchor, producer and reporter. During that time he won two Emmy awards.  

In 2009, Toby was asked to become the sideline reporter for the University of Oklahoma football games and in 2011 was hired to succeed the iconic Bob Berry Sr. as the “Voice of the Sooners” for OU football, basketball and baseball games.

Toby and his wife Jenni have three children.

One of Toby's claims to fame is that he once killed a gopher on a golf course with a 9 iron.
