We Need YOU!

The Office of Alumni would like to offer you some exciting opportunities to volunteer and help us welcome fellow alumni back to campus for Homecoming 2011! Homecoming weekend is packed with activities for all ages. We have several great options to choose from, depending on your talents and areas of interest.

You’ll see that we need lots of volunteers, so check the list and check your calendars. We know it's a long list...that's why we need your help! Scroll through the options below, and then fill out the form at the bottom of the page to submit your information

Friday, November 11

Decorating Crew: Want to help SNU make a great first impression? This committee will be in charge of making the campus look great! We will construct balloon columns and arrangements, place flowerpots and, for those who may be a little “decorating challenged,” take them down afterwards. Grab some coffee and a few creative friends, and have some fun!

Greeters/Ticket Takers: This committee will greet our very distinguished alumni as they arrive at the Legacy Reception. Volunteers in this position should be very comfortable conversing with older adults, and be able to help them with directions, schedule questions, etc. Royce Brown 203.
4:30 – 5:30 PM
Volunteers Needed = 3

Registration: Be the first friendly face visitors see as they return to campus. Registration volunteers will greet and check in alumni, distribute nametags, sell tickets, answer questions, and just be generally helpful!

Arts Festival Set-Up: We’ve added a new event this year, and you can help us make it run smoothly! This committee will check in artists, help them find their places, and watch their booths while they set up. College Street.

Volunteers Needed = 12

Signage Placement: If you appreciate good directional signage when you’re not sure where you’re going, you may enjoy providing this service to all of our campus visitors! This committee will place various signs around the campus, indicating parking, sponsorships, etc.
7:00 – 8:00 AM

Runner/Gopher: Sometimes we just need people to run and do stuff! Volunteers will run errands, and assist office staff and guests with any issues that arise.
8:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sign up for 2-hour time slots

Saturday, November 12

Registration: Be the first friendly face visitors see as they return to campus. Registration volunteers will greet and check in alumni, distribute nametags, sell tickets, answer questions, and just be generally helpful!

Decorating Crew: This committee will help decorate tables according to centerpiece examples, and various room decorating if necessary, for special reunion gatherings and the All Alumni Dinner.

All-Alumni Dinner Decor, 9:00AM - Noon (10)

Balloon Crew: Fill balloons and place around campus.

Reunion Greeters/Ticket Takers: These volunteers will greet alumni, take tickets, answer questions and assist reunion planners. They will also collect and return class packets to alumni office. Various locations.
(Two-hour shifts)

Runner/Gopher: Volunteers will run errands, and assist office staff and guests with any issues that arise.

Arts Festival: Volunteers will take payment for items purchased at the merchant processing table. They will handle cash and process credit cards. We will teach you how to do this. If that scares you, we can use you at the artists’ booths to relieve them while they take 15-minute breaks.

Clean Up Crew: Nobody notices what these people do unless it goes undone! Help us tear down & clean up after the All Alumni Dinner in the Sawyer Center
