Casey Myers - Theology & Ministry, SNU

Casey Myers

Casey Myers is the Youth Pastor of Discipleship at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, OK. The SNU Theology and Ministry graduate now works with two other youth pastors along with a team of 30 youth worker volunteers to minister to roughly 300 middle school and high school students in the area each week.

Casey’s ministry at Bethany First Church began a few months after his graduation from Southern Nazarene University. “After graduating from the Theology and Ministry program and entering full-time ministry, I recognized how well SNU had prepared me to be a pastor. The class room environment gave me significant knowledge and understanding, paired with the Ministerial Internship that gave me real world ministry experience to apply that information to. The beauty of the program is that I have already been exposed to so many pastoral situations and now that I am a full-time pastor, I have the training to work through them,” says Myers.

“The coursework and the internship are great, but they would be nothing without the constant investment of professors and local church leaders. To this day, every professor and every pastor I’ve interned with knows me by name and has deeply impacted the way that I carry out ministry in my local context. I am forever grateful to SNU for providing me these mentors to pour into me and guide me in the building of the Kingdom of God,”says Myers. Casey is now in the process of acquiring his Masters of Divinity online through Nazarene Theological Seminary.
