OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (October 15, 2013) – The Higher Education Heritage Society of Oklahoma Inducted Dr. Loren P. Gresham into the Higher Education Hall of Fame at the Twentieth Annual Induction Ceremony and Dinner on October 15, 2013.

As stated in the event program, “In his twenty-four years as President of Southern Nazarene University, Gresham has expanded endowments, opened the Southern Plaza retirement center in Bethany, established the Marchant Alumni Center, founded a student residential complex, initiated a multi-million dollar campaign for expanding the sciences and fostered a Center for Fine Arts.”
Gresham was also cited for his civic contributions in the communities of Bethany and Oklahoma City as a member of the Oklahoma City and Bethany Chambers of Commerce, President of the Oklahoma Independent Colleges and Universities, member of the Board of Directors of Integris Baptist Medical Center, and member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Oklahoma City.
Dr. Gresham becomes the third SNU faculty-administrator to become inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining Drs. Don and Joy Beaver, who were honored in 2006.
The mission of The Higher Education Heritage Society of Oklahoma is “to preserve the heritage and history of higher education in Oklahoma and to promote enhanced awareness of the higher education’s vital role in the state’s social, cultural, economic and education development.”
