  1. Where can I download anti-virus software and programs to clean spyware and adware?

  2. My password has expired. What can I do?
    Talk to a lab assistant or call the Helpdesk (491-6396) to have them reset your password. Be sure to change your password when you are notified that it will expire soon or else your account will be locked out.
  3. How can I change my password?
    Go to my.snu.edu, log in, and click on "Password" in the menu on the left to change your password.

  5. I can't login to MySNU. Why?
    Most likely, your password has expired. Talk to a lab assistant or call the Helpdesk (491-6396) to have them reset your password. Be sure to change your password when you are notified that it will expire soon or else your account will be locked out.
  6. I am having trouble accessing the Internet. What can I do?
    1. (Windows 98) If the connection has worked before and doesn't work now, click on Start, Run, type winipcfg, and click OK. Click on the down arrow and select the network card. Then click on Release All. The IP address numbers should go to 0’s. Click on OK and then Start, Shutdown, Restart. In most cases, will fix the problem.
    2. (Windows XP) If the connection has worked before and doesn't work now, click on Start, Run, type cmd and click OK. Type ipconfig and press Enter. The IP address for the Ethernet card will be listed. Type ipconfig /release. The IP address should change to all zeros. Type exit and then Start, Shutdown, Restart. In most cases, will fix the problem.
    3. If the problem is not fixed, unplug and replug the network cable from the PC and the wall. Restart the computer.
    4. If you are trying to connect wirelessly, be sure that you are within range of an access point. When you open your Web browser, you should be directed to to wireless.snu.edu. On this page, you can enter your network name and password to get access to the wireless network.
    5. If the problem still is not fixed, call the Helpdesk at 6396, stating your name, location, phone number, nature of the problem and list the fixes you attempted.
  7. The SNU webpage doesn't work on my PC. What can I do?
    The SNU webpage works best with Internet Explorer version 5.01 or later, but it will also work with Netscape 6. To check the version of your web browser, open the program, click on Help, About Internet Explorer or Netscape. If it is an outdated version, you will have to go to the appropriate site for the latest version of the web browser.

    Student/Adult/Graduate email addresses consist of the username followed by @mail.snu.edu.
    Example: jdoe@mail.snu.edu
    A students may access their email at MySNU or using a POP3/IMAP client like Outlook or Thunderbird.
