What hours is the library open?

During the spring and fall semesters, the library is open Monday-Thursday 7:45 a.m. - midnight, Friday 7:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and Sunday 7:30 p.m. - midnight. (Sunday hours only apply during Fall and Spring semesters).  During the summer, the library opens at 8 am and closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Where can I return books when the library is closed?

A book drop is located near the east and west entrances of the library for returning books when the library is closed.

What's the policy on over-due materials?

The library extended use (fine) policy is as follows:

Books Fee
Standard Circulation $0.10 per day
Reserves (Daily) $0.50 per day
Hourly $0.25 per hour
Interlibrary $0.50 per DAY

Laptops & Peripherals
Laptops, cords, and headsets are checked out for up to 6 hours and may be renewed for use until closing time that day.  There is a $10 hourly extended use fine for keeping a laptop or peripheral overdue.  All laptops and peripherals must be returned by closing on the day they are checked out.  None may be checked out overnight. No checkouts or renewals are permitted if the borrower has a fine.

What's the policy for lost materials?

Patrons will be charged the Books in Print or Media Catalog price for any lost material. In addition, a $20.00 processing fee will be applied. If a current price cannot be determined, the average replacement cost will be charged as follows:

Audio/Visual $100.00
Books $50.00
Curriculum $20.00
Microform $10.00

What if I need help with research after hours?

Text a librarian by texting 309-222-7740 and enter the library's code SNU. A librarian will text your answer within 10 minutes between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How do I get a library card at the Metropolitan Library System?

Take your SNU student ID card and identification showing your permanent residence (driver's license) to the Bethany Branch of the Metropolitan Library System and apply for a library card that can be used anywhere in the Metropolitan Library System (Oklahoma City and Oklahoma County).  For more information and directions, go to the Bethany Library website.
