Minimum Spanish competency: One year of university Spanish
Program Description: LASP is a program of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). Students live with a Costa Rican family and study the language, literature, culture, politics, history, economics, ecology and religion of the region. Students also take part in a service opportunity. Four concentrations are available: Latin American Studies; Advanced Language and Literature (designed for Spanish majors); International Business: Management and Marketing; and Environmental Science. Not all concentrations are offered every semester.
Credit: 16-18 hours
Financial Aid: Academic and need based financial aid will apply. However, the use of performance based financial aid (such as athletic or music) will depend on the area granting the aid.
