The Zig Ziglar Center for Ethical Leadership at Southern Nazarene University presents the Peer Learning Network Schedule for the 2011-2012 academic year.
In addition to the new speaker schedule, The Petroleum Club was announced as a new venue for many of the Peer Learning sessions. The Petroleum Club is located at 1000 N. Broadway Ave., in downtown Oklahoma City.
Dan Cathy will be speaking at the first Peer Learning Network session at The Petroleum Club on September 22, 2011. Cathy is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Chick-fil-A, Inc. His lifelong career at Chick-fil-A began at the age of 9 as he sang songs for customers. Since that time, Cathy has served as Senior Director of Operations, Vice President of Operations and Executive Vice President prior to being named President and COO in 2001.
Eric Alexander will be speaking on November 3, 2011 on the campus of SNU in the Royce Brown building. Alexander is a world-class skier, climber, mountaineer, and speaker, on achieving his goals while playing an instrumental role in helping others to achieve their own. Most recently he defied the odds and scaled Mt. Everest with his blind friend, Erik Weihenmayer. When not instructing disabled skiers in Colorado, Eric directs
Adventures Beyond Limits, an organization that educates and encourages youth with disabilities in the outdoors. Alexander is the author of “The Summit” and has an outstanding ability to relate his exciting journey and challenge audiences to set and achieve their personal and corporate goals.
Tom Ward will be the speaker on February 9, 2012 at The Petroleum Club. Ward has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SandRidge Energy, Inc since June 2006. Prior to SandRidge, Ward served as President, Chief Operating Officer, and a director of Chesapeake Energy Corporation from the time he co-founded the company with Aubrey K. McClendon in 1989 until 2006. In 2000 Ward and his son, Trent, co-founded White Fields, Inc., a home for severely abused and neglected boys.
