Southern Nazarene University will host the Oklahoma Academy of Science conference on Friday, October 31, 2008, with 14 concurrent sessions taking place in the W. Don Beaver Science building on the SNU campus in Bethany, Oklahoma.
A wide range of sciences will be represented from physical sciences to social sciences within the scientific research oral presentations. More than 200 guests are expected to attend these sessions that will include professors and students from most Oklahoma universities, including the Health Sciences Centers in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, the Nature Conservancy, Oklahoma Biological Survey, and the U.S Fish and Wildlife.
The Plenary Address to be delivered at the luncheon will be given by keynote speaker Dr. Clifford Houston, University of Texas Medical Branch on the topic: "The Journey of One Microbiologist ... Still in Progress." The luncheon will take place in the Commons Heritage Room.
