BETHANY, Okla. (February 11, 2011) – Four Southern Nazarene University Alumni have been named Putnam City Schools teachers of the year.
- Kim (McAlister) Stephens (’96) - Hilldale Elementary
- Mariah (Winters) Kennemer (’01) - Northridge Elementary
- Melissa (McMillon) Williams (’05) - Western Oaks Elementary
- Jody Bowie (’07) - Putnam City High School
Tim Taylor, director of teacher education, commented by saying, “We are very excited that of the 27 Putnam City Schools Teachers of the Year for 2010-2011, 4 of those selected are alumni of Southern Nazarene University. The Putnam City School District is a great school district and SNU is proud that these individuals have been selected to represent their particular schools by their fellow staff members. We congratulate these outstanding educators!”
These teachers are also nominees for Putnam City Schools Teacher of the Year. A reception will be held March 8 to announce the winner. The Teacher of the Year reception is free and open to the public and will be held at NEWCHURCH, 9201 N. Rockwell.
