BETHANY, OK (August 2, 2012) - On Monday, August 6th Southern Nazarene University and Chick-fil-A on Rockwell & NW Expressway have partnered for a Back to School Supply Drive.
As a way to give back to the community, SNU will be accepting donations of school supplies for local teachers at Greenvale Elementary, Tulakes Elementary and Capps Middle School. A downloadable list of needed supplies can be found at www.snu.edu/chicken.
"Our first SNU Day @ Chick-fil-A was an overwhelming success! It was the largest spirit day the Rockwell & NW Expressway location has ever hosted! For our second SNU Day @ Chick-fil-A, our goal is to build on the momentum of fun, but this time focus on serving a need in our community,” said Kendra Thomson, Executive Director of Alumni Relations at Southern Nazarene University.
Each person who brings in a donation of new school supplies will receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich voucher. Each child who brings a donation will also receive an SNU drawstring bag, while supplies last. To participate, tell your cashier or drive-thru attendant you are with SNU and a percentage of each purchase will support Southern Nazarene University.
Needed school supplies include:
- Scissors
- Crayons
- Colored Pencils
- Markers
- Dry Erase Markers
- Pencils/Pens
- Spiral Notebooks
- Folders
- Glue Sticks
- Handwriting paper
- Computer/copy paper

“Our Alumni and community friends are so supportive, we know they will come out again to provide school supplies for local students and schools in need. I can't wait to see how many school supplies we collect! A lot of students, who otherwise wouldn't have the resources, are going to start school with all the supplies they need for a successful year,” stated Thomson.
Southern Nazarene University's mission is to transform lives through higher education in Christ-centered community. As a Christian community of scholars, we model the hospitality of grace, the pursuit of truth and the practice of discipleship, all within the Wesleyan-holiness tradition, as we prepare graduates who THINK with clarity, ACT with integrity and SERVE with purpose.
