SNU's John Martin earns The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®

BETHANY, OK - It is with pleasure that Southern Nazarene University (SNU) congratulates John Martin, Associate Vice President for University Advancement at Southern Nazarene University upon earning The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) designation.

On receiving news of Martin’s certification, Dr. Terry Toler, Vice President for University Advancement and Church Relations at SNU, said, “Our constituents have always greatly valued John’s expertise and knowledge in the areas of philanthropy and wealth management, and the awarding of this designation affirms this confidence through this certification from The American College. It also provides our donors access to the knowledge and understanding he has gained through these specialized studies.”

The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) provides the knowledge and tools needed to help clients reach their philanthropic goals, estate planning and wealth management needs. The CAP® program is designed to assist anyone who advises clients about long-term planning for financial assets.

"This certification deals with aspects of the tax law and philanthropy that has been a part of my work experience for the past several years, but this formalizes it in a new way.  Going forward, it means a lot to me and the SNU community to know that though we are not in the business of offering legal or tax advice, yet we can help to point generous tax payers in a direction with the confidant assurance that the information they receive from SNU will be not only timely and practical, but also rock-solid as it pertains to the accuracy of what is beneficial under the present tax code," said Martin.
