BETHANY, OK -- Southern Nazarene University (SNU) will honor the graduating class of 2009 during Spring Commencement exercises at 10:00 a.m. for Undergraduates on Saturday, May 9, 2009 in the Sawyer Center, located on the campus of Southern Nazarene University on Northwest 39th Expressway and Donald. Doors to the Sawyer Center will open at 9:15 a.m.

Brad R. Moore, President of the Hallmark Hall of Fame Productions, a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Inc. will serve as Commencement Speaker for the Southern Nazarene University Spring Commencement ceremony.
Under Moore’s leadership the Hallmark Hall of Fame has produced more than 80 movies and received 31 Emmy awards (5 for “Best Picture”) plus 7 golden Globe awards and numerous other honors.
Moore is chairman of the board of trustees of Southern Nazarene University, chairman of the board of Nazarene Publishing House, secretary of the board of Nazarene Theological Seminary, a member of the SNU Foundation board, and a member of BFRS Thought Partners, an advisory group to the General Superintendents of the Church of the Nazarene. He is a member of the Production Executives Peer Group of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and a past director of the Association of national Advertisers and of Kansas City public television station KCPT.
The College of Professional Studies Commencement Graduation exercises are at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, May 9, in the Sawyer Center. Doors open for Professional Studies Commencement at 1:15 p.m.
Spring Nursing Ceremony takes place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009 in Herrick Auditorium on the campus of Southern Nazarene University.
Following the morning undergraduate commencement exercises, the historic Ivy Ring Ceremony for graduates will take place at the Centennial Plaza in front of the Webster Commons. Families are encouraged to follow the graduates in their recessional out to the Centennial Plaza and stand behind their graduates as part of the Ivy Ring Ceremony.
Commencement is open to the public, and there is no admission charge. Guests are asked to enter through the west doors of the Sawyer Center.
