Two Southern Nazarene University McNair Scholars have been awarded scholarships through the Oklahoma Division of Student Assistance (ODSA), the Oklahoma branch of the Southwestern Association of Student Assistance Programs (SWSAP).
McNair Scholars Jennifer Kemp and Jacquline Jackson were chosen from among hundreds of applicants state-wide to receive the $300 award. The scholarship was awarded based on the students’ academic achievements, participation in civic and church organizations, participation in McNair program activities and their educational and career objectives.
ODSA exists to promote the development, improvement and extension of educational opportunities to persons from disadvantaged educational, economic, social and physical backgrounds to allow them to reach their fullest academic potential. Toward this goal ODSA supports all federal TRiO Programs in the state of Oklahoma, including Upward Bound, Talent Search, Student Support Services, and the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars).
For more information about SNU’s TRiO Programs and how to become a participant contact Deanna Johnson in Student Support Services, or Rhonda Crutcher in the McNair Scholars office.
