Pre-Physical & Pre-Occupational Therapy

Southern Nazarene University’s Pre-Physical Therapy & Pre-Occupational Therapy is regionally known for the quality of students that continue into the top graduate schools in the country including University of Oklahoma Health & Science Center, Langston and Northwestern University. The program is designed to reflect the classes for admittance at OUHSC yet students may customize their degree to meet the prerequisite requirements of other specific professional programs. In fact, our program has four core “hands on” courses, Lower Extremity Injury Evaluation, Upper Extremity Injury Evaluation, Therapeutic Modalities and Therapeutic Physical Rehabilitation. These courses are very unusual to incorporate on the undergraduate level—the result is our graduates feel like they are years ahead of the rest of the class in graduate school.

In Her Words: “The Pre-OT program at SNU truly prepared me for OT school. Having a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology has made graduate level anatomy much less intimidating. The professors at SNU hold you and your work to a higher standard, while still caring about you as a person. The semester-long internship caused me to jump head first into my career field, making important contacts and put my "book knowledge" to use. Going to SNU was the best decision I could have made, as it caused me to be one step ahead of the curve in my journey to become an OT.”
