SNU's Wall of Missions

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth have been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.” -- Matthew 28:18-20

SNU's Wall of Missions reflects the school's rich heritage and the sacrificial legacy of her alumni. The names on the Wall of Missions call us to be faithful. They challenge us to respond to God’s urgent commission, even to the end of the age.

The names [see list] on the Wall of Missions are Southern Nazarene University alumni who made a significant commitment to sharing the love of Jesus Christ with a culture not their own. This includes those who served through the traditional foreign missions programs as career missionaries as well as those who gave at least a year of their lives to urban, village or work and witness ministries.

Where can I see the Wall of Missions display?
The Wall of Missions is located near the President's Office in Bresee Hall, the signature and remaining original building on the SNU campus.

The list reflects students from all of those schools that eventually merged to become SNU:

  • Texas Holiness University (1899-1911)
  • Kansas Holiness College (1910-1924)
  • Oklahoma Holiness College (1909-1920)
  • Peniel University (1911-1916)
  • Central Nazarene College (1909-1929)
  • Bresee College (1924-1940)
  • Bethany Peniel College (1920-1956)
  • Bethany Nazarene University (1957-1985)
  • Southern Nazarene University (1985-)

How can I assure that SNU will continue producing missionaries?
One way of helping SNU continue producing missionaries is by giving to scholarships for missions students. For information on the Jim Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund for missions students at SNU, click here.
