2019-20 Trip Details

Trip Info:

Costs: This year the participation cost is $595 which includes insurance, bus travel to and from Chihuahua (leaving from El Paso), on site meals, housing and transportation.  Please be sure to pay a deposit of $100 by October 1st with the remainder due by November 1st (in order to secure housing, materials and transportation).

Travel: We will meet at the Border Initiative Ministry Center in El Paso, TX at 7:00 AM on Dec. 27th. There are a limited number of beds at the Ministry Center for those who need to stay the night of Dec. 26th.  To check availability please email  All participants are responsible for finding their own way to the Border Initiative Ministry Center.  

Rooms:  Rooms are priced at 4 people per room. If participants would like other arrangements, there will be an added cost. More details to follow as the hotel arrangements are secured.

Minors are required to stay in a room with a parent or legal guardian, no exceptions.    

Background Checks:  If you have not completed a background check with SNU since January 2018 (2017-18 or 2018-19 trips), please download and complete the form.  The completed form along with a check for $12.50, payable to SNU should be mailed to SNU-Church Relations, 6729 NW 39th Exp., Bethany, OK 73008.

Refund Policy:  Participant funds are non-refundable.

Terms and Conditions:  This year, participants are required to read and agree to the Terms and Conditions for this trip.  It requires a digital signature acknowledging agreement to the document when you sign up, so read it before filling out the registration form. Minors must also have a parent or legal guardian read and sign this document that can be found on the right side of the webpage.

Parent Permission Forms:  People under 18 years of age traveling in Mexico without their parents must have written parental permission. If traveling with one parent, the child needs a signed affidavit from the other parent. If one parent has full legal custody and is not accompanying the minor into Mexico, only that parent needs to sign the affidavit.

This applies to anyone who will be a minor at any time between December 27th, 2019, and January 2nd, 2020. Here is the link to the Under 18 Permission Form.

An original, notarized, hardcopy of this form is required and must be received by November 15, 2019. Mail to the address referenced below.
