Commission to Mexico - 2018-2019

Commission to Mexico

2018-2019 Trip Details

Trip Info:

Flights:  This year, the trip will cost $450/person.  However, there have been some changes that may lead to incurring additional costs.  This year, participants will need to book their own flights to and from Guadalajara, MX.  To clarify, this cost is not included in the $450/person base cost that must be paid to Southern Nazarene University.  Participants must arrive no later than 4:00 p.m. CST on the 27th of December to Guadalajara, MX, but may leave at any time on the 2nd of January.

Rooms:  There is a new policy regarding rooms:  it is $450/person to be in a four-person room, no exceptions.  To have one’s own bed, we will need an extra $150.  That is, it is $150 extra for each extra slot in a room.  It should be noted that there are no exceptions, so married couples will no longer receive a room to themselves without penalty.

Minors will also be required to stay in a room with a parent or legal guardian, no exceptions.  It should be noted that this does not change the policy of the extra $150.  In other words, if a minor and one parent travel with us this winter, then it will be $300 more than the base $450.

Background Checks:  Other costs include the $25 that must be sent along with the completed background check form found on the right side of the page for those who have not had a background check through us for either of the past two trips (2016-2017 or 2017-2018).  Further instructions for this payment are included on the right.

Deposit:  This year, we will require a $100 deposit by August 1st.  This is non-refundable.

Payment Due Date:  All payments are due by November 1st, no exceptions.

Refund Policy:  Participant funds are non-refundable after October 1, 2018.

Required Documents:

Terms and Conditions:  This year, participants are required to read and agree to the Terms and Conditions for this trip.  It requires a digital signature acknowledging agreement to the document when you sign up, so read it before filling out the registration form. Minors must also have a parent or legal guardian read and sign this document that can be found on the right side of the webpage.

Parent Permission Forms:  Much like in the past, minors must have a parent permission form signed by both parents and/or legal guardians.  This applies to anyone who will be a minor at any time between December 27th, 2018, and January 2nd, 2019.We must have an original hardcopy of this document, so print it out, complete the form, and mail it to the listed address.  All of this can be found on the right.

Background Checks:  As mentioned above, background checks are required of those who have not submitted one through Southern Nazarene University in the past two years. To submit one through us, one must also send an additional $25 as a separate payment (only by check made out to SNU and mailed to SNU/Lori Cable.) Recent (within the past two years) background checks through one’s work, church, etc. are acceptable.

Other Information:  This year, there will be a maximum capacity of 100 people.  For this reason, we are requiring the $100 deposit by August 1st.

All international registrants must apply through Border Initiative rather than Southern Nazarene University.
