
Governor Appoints SNU Alumna Hannah G. Whipp to State Commission

[Bethany, Oklahoma]—Southern Nazarene University (SNU) proudly recognizes alumna Hannah G. Whipp, who was recently appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt to serve as a commissioner on the Oklahoma Commission for Children and Youth. Her appointment was officially filed on March 12, 2025. Whipp will represent metropolitan juvenile bureaus in this role, bringing years of expertise from her career with the Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau.
Whipp has served as the bureau’s director since September 2022. Since joining in 2013, she has advanced through roles in detention, probation, internal affairs, and human resources. In 2017, she was named Human Resources Manager, a position she held before stepping into her current leadership role.
A proud two-time graduate of SNU, Whipp earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology before launching her career in juvenile justice. She later earned her Master of Business Administration while working at the bureau, graduating in 2015. She also holds a Senior Certified Professional credential from the Society for Human Resource Management.
Reflecting on her appointment, Whipp shared, “It’s a privilege to serve on the Oklahoma Commission for Children and Youth. Throughout my time in juvenile justice, I’ve seen the impact of strong, consistent support systems. I’m committed to working with fellow commissioners to strengthen the work being done on behalf of children across Oklahoma.”
