RENEW Counseling Center Building on SNU's Campus

SNU's Renew Counseling Center Undergoes Exciting Renovations

For Immediate Release

[Bethany, Oklahoma] - Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is pleased to announce that the Renew Counseling Center at SNU is undergoing exciting renovations. “Due to kind and anonymous donations, our counseling center is being upgraded, and some projects are being completed so that we can better care for our clients,” says Holly Sapp, Executive Clinical Director of Renew Counseling Center.

According to Sapp, renovations include the entire second story of the counseling center, connecting the two sides of the building so that clinicians and clients don't have to travel outside to get from one side to the other. “Not only will it connect both sides of the building, but it will also add more office space for us, allowing greater capacity for serving our community,” she explains. “These are really exciting renovations, and they speak to SNU's commitment to the well-being of their students.  The renovations will allow us to serve our clients in a more comfortable setting and to expand our services.”

Renew Counseling Center is a holistic well-being clinic. It offers counseling services to the SNU community and the public. It also serves as the primary training facility for students in SNU’s Graduate Programs in Counseling Psychology. Students pursuing their Master of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) complete one semester of in-house clinical training at Renew during their second year in the program. Select third-year students also get to complete their internships at the Renew Counseling Center.

As a training clinic, Renew offers group and individual therapy options at various price points for the SNU community and public clients. The counseling center has over 70 clinicians with experience levels ranging from Psychologists to master’s-level interns. Renew also hosts regular continuing education opportunities for community clinicians. These offerings include monthly CEU trainings, PCIT certification, and play therapy training.

Renew Counseling is moving to a temporary location during the renovation and will continue to offer its services to the SNU and local communities. Renew is currently located in the Ludwig Religion Building, at 4116 N. College Avenue. “If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at 405-717-6200 or renew@mail.snu.edu,” says Sapp. We look forward to continuing to serve you!”
